Effective Dec. 12, 2022, the federal government will allow families to enroll for policies on the HealthCare.gov Marketplace even if a member of that family has coverage through their employer.
Nine out of ten North Carolinians who are enrolled can get help with premiums and deductibles.
According to a statement on Bright HealthCare’s website, “Written notifications have been or will be sent to all impacted Individual and Family Plan members in the near future…”
If this impacts you, you will need to enroll in a new policy by Dec. 15, 2022, in order to ensure you are covered for Jan. 1, 2023.
Many of the subsidies that were made possible by the American Rescue Plan of 2021 were continued in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This means that four out of five enrollees could pay $10 or less per month for coverage.
