Affordable Care Act Call-in Event Will Answer Questions, Jan. 10, From 4 to 7 p.m.
Raleigh, N.C. – The 2022 Open Enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace® on HealthCare.gov will end Jan. 15, 2022. The NC Navigator Consortium’s local team of federally qualified health insurance navigators are taking appointments (by phone, in person or virtually) to help consumers apply for or update their Marketplace coverage. Appointments may be scheduled online at ncnavigator.net or by calling 1-855-733-3711.
In advance of the deadline, the NC Navigator Consortium will host the Affordable Care Act Call-in Event, during which health insurance navigators will take toll-free phone calls to answer questions Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. Navigators will be standing by at 1-855-733-3711 to help with general health insurance and HealthCare.gov inquiries, and schedule longer appointments to complete and update applications before the Jan. 15 deadline.
As COVID-19 infection rates rise, having health insurance has never been more important, yet more than one million North Carolinians are uninsured. Fortunately, health coverage through the Marketplace has never been more affordable. This year, because of the American Rescue Plan, there are more than 100,000 North Carolinians who are newly eligible for financial assistance. Right now, four out of five families can get coverage for less than $10 a month.
Health insurance navigators work with North Carolinians to maximize their coverage by:
- Taking time with them to help avoid mistakes
- Showing all options, ensuring their providers are in-network
- Explaining terminology and processes, increasing health insurance literacy
- Assisting them with estimating their income for the year ahead, one of the most difficult parts of the HealthCare.gov application process
NC navigators are available year-round for questions and to address other issues like qualifying life events, special open enrollment periods and income adjustments.
