NC Navigator Consortium Responds to HealthCare.gov changes by Hosting Enrollment Event in Raleigh on Saturday, Dec. 13.

On Saturday, December 13th, Enrollment Assisters from the NC Navigator Consortium will be holding free appointments at Advance Community Health. Anyone looking for help securing health coverage for next year will be able to sit down with an expert to figure out their options and enroll in a plan. The event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.  The NC Navigator Consortium is a statewide non-profit project of Legal Aid NC. The Consortium is funded through Federal and state-based philanthropic grants. Navigators are non-biased experts who counsel consumers on how to find a plan that works for them. They assist people in enrolling in coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace and NC Medicaid. They also connect North Carolinians to benefits like WIC, SNAP or LIEAP. The Consortium’s efforts, as well as those of their community health partners, have contributed to North Carolina consistently being ranked as one of the top 3 states for health coverage enrollment among Federally Facilitated Marketplace states.

Navigators offer free appointments year-round. Appointments are available virtually over the phone, on Zoom calls, or in-person at any of their statewide enrollment sites. On December 13th, Navigators will be coming in from all over the state to team up for this event in the City of Oaks. The event comes days ahead of the December 15th deadline for Health Insurance Marketplace plans to begin on January 1st. This year’s Open Enrollment Period ends January 15th. The majority of those who enroll after the December 15th deadline will have their coverage begin February 1st.  Anyone who has questions about health coverage or would like help selecting a plan can schedule their free appointment by visiting NCNavigator.org or dialing 1-855-733-3711.Walk-ins are also welcome.
